Tribute to Kantner – Jefferson Airplane live at the Matrix

Live Psych Out this Saturday night will be a tribute to the mighty Paul Kantner. Jefferson Airplane live at the Matrix in 1968. A great clean sound-desk recording. with the band tearing through album tracks and ‘hits’, a great show, thanks to Rusty for finding it for us all. Have a smoke, raise a glass, medicate yourself or listen as sober as a judge, but do listen and just think of how Paul’s music has touched your life. Here’s to you Paul, Psychedelicized salutes you!

Happy 4th Birthday Psychedelicized!

Today, January 17, marks the fourth anniversary of the first broadcast of Psychedelicized Radio! Thanks to the dedication of Captain Christy, and his hardy mates, we’ve now sailed the psychedelic cyberwave for many years. Here’s lifting a flagon to many more! ~ Sandoz

There is just as much effort and input from Doc Sandoz, Rusty, Whitebread, Colin and Adam, plus BIG help from Uncle Michael getting started, and Leo. Crox and many others that inspire and contribute. AND all of you that listen and contribute financially to keep us on the air, as without your support we couldn’t continue. Also, should mention Paul who put so many years into TWoS, which we all loved, which acted as a start point of sorts when we began as they finished. Thanks everybody, I’m humbled to be involved and to have met so many like minded psych heads. 🙂 ~ Christy

Live Psychout: David Bowie – September 1971

Saturday’s Live Psych Out!
As the news of David Bowie’s passing is still bothering me on a daily basis, I have dug out a rare old show from September 1971 at Friars, Aylesbury, where the Spiders band were just forming, the great Mike Ronson on guitar, Woody Woodmansey on drums and Trevor Bolder on bass. The set includes tracks from the Hunky Dory album, a few covers and an unreleased Bowie song. It’s slightly distorted at peak volumes, as it is seemingly an audience or monitor recording, vocal heavy, but clear. David and the band sound full of enthusiasm and good cheer, chatting to the audience warmly, catching them just prior to the Ziggy era where Bowie, in the UK at least, became massive. We can also salute Trevor Bolder who passed in 2013 and Mick Ronson who left us in 1993. I hope you all enjoy it. Here’s to you David and the Spiders. ~ Christy

David Bowie R.I.P

As a tribute to David Bowie, tonight Monday January 11, at 7pm UK, NY & SF, we will play the John Peel sessions, as complete as is available from 3rd June 1971. Given them a scrub and master and they sound really nice and should do David proud, about 32 mins, complete with John Peel introductions to the tracks. If you are able to join us, do so and raise a glass to the one and only Starman. RIP David Bowie. — with David Bowie.

Psychedelicized Server Costs – January 2016

Dear Psychedelicized Listeners,
Each month come around cap in hand and ask for your help in covering costs to keep us on the air. Just $197 a month ($130 this month!) inc. transaction costs, covers both our hosting and the licensing which keeps us legal and pays the royalties to the artists we play. We make no profit and don’t want to, we are enthusiasts like you and want to get the the great rarities of music heard by everyone. I would love to pay it all myself but I just don’t have it spare, so I will willingly give time to keep it running but I need your help to keep it on the air. If you can spare a few dollars, we’d greatly appreciate it. Thanks 🙂
