Baby Grandmothers

BandBaby Grandmothers were a band out of Sweden active from 1967-1969. This three-piece band consisted of Kenny Hakånsson (guitar, vocals), Bella Linnarsson (bass), and Pelle Ekman (drums). Baby Grandmothers played several of the clubs in Stockholm, including Club Philip, Golden Circle, Old Bridge, Zazam, College of Arts, and many others.

The band did a tour in Finland in 1968 with Finnish singer Anki Lindqvist. The tour was successful, and in several parts of Finland, Baby Grandmothers required police escorts to get to their hotels. The band also released a self-titled album in 1968. Their following grew big enough that in 1968 Baby Grandmothers committed to a tour with Jimi Hendrix. In 1969, members of the band went on to form Mecki Mark Men with Mecki Mark Bode. The band would make a comeback in 2008, releasing an album of all their work.
