The Buzz

From: Edinburgh, Scotland

The Buzz were a band that evolved out of the Boston Dexters. Tam White (vocals) and Johnny Turnbull (guitar) were both in the Boston Dexters, and joined forces with Brian Henderson (bass) and Mike Travis (drums). The Buzz released the single “You’re Holding Me Down” / “I’ve Gotta Buzz” on the Columbia label in 1967, a single that has become very sought-after. The A-side is an excellent piece of psych with manic sounds and astounding vocals. Travis was later the drummer for Atlantic Bridge and Gilgamesh.
