The Empty Vessels

From: Torquay/Exeter, England

The Empty Vessels were a short lived band from the late 1960s known for containing Martin Turner of Wishbone Ash. The Empty Vessels released one single over their existence, “My Son John”/”Low Toby,” on the German Metronome label. The single is very rare and on many collector’s want list. Band members were Glenn Turner (guitar), Martin Turner (bass, vocals) and Steve Upton (drums). The Empty Vessels were briefly known as Tanglewood. When Glenn Turner left the band, Martin and Upton formed a new band with the help of manager Miles Copeland III. This band would become Wishbone Ash.
