The Factotums

From: Manchester, England

The Factotums were formed from two groups who all attended Audenshaw Grammar School in Tameside, Greater Manchester. Members were Nidge Thomas, Jeff Lees, Ian Thornton and Steve Knowles. They recorded a harmony pop cover of Martha and The Vandellas’ “In My Lonely Room” for their debut single in 1965, which later aired on The Immediate Alternative. For their next single, they recorded a cover of the Beach Boys “You’re So Good To Me,” but they still failed to find any commercial success. The band continued to record singles throughout the decade, never really finding success.
