Gates Of Eden

From: England

Gates of Eden were an English Freakbeat R&B band who took their name from the Bob Dylan song “Gates of Eden.” The band cut three singles for Pye before disbanding in 1967. Their first single features a strong cover of the Kinks song “Too Much On My Mind.” With their second single being a major flop, the Gates of Eden chose two original songs written by singer/guitarist Roger Matthews for their third and final release. “1 to 7” is regarded as the band’s strongest record, and was championed by Radio London DJ John Peel as his Record Of The Week.
