Jeronimo

JeronimoFrom: Germany

Founded in 1969, Jeronimo quickly became a hit in their home continent, climbing to the #1 position in almost all European countries. Founding members were Rainer Marz, Gunnar Schäfer and Ringo Funk. The band had their first two hits in 1969-70 with “Hey Ya” and “Na Na Hey Hey.” In 1970, Jeronimo toured through Germany with Steppenwolf. The band also partook in the legendary “Progressive Pop Festival” in Cologne that same year. Jeronimo would share headlines with bands such as Deep Purple and Golden Earing at different open-air festivals.

Even though Jeronimo has been around for several decades and has sold millions of records worldwide, they are still considered to be a cult band. Their hit singles have been released on a number of hit-compilations, and their albums have been re-issued. 1970’s Cosmic Blues is a nice bit of harder rock with psych tones.
