American Blues

From: Dallas, TX, USA

This garage band out of Texas mixed the likes of psychedelic music with blues rock. A major influence of American Blues was the 13th Floor Elevators, another great Texas-based band. American Blues are famous for having two members of the future ZZ Top, Dusty Hill and Frank Beard. This band traveled all through the Texas state playing such clubs as The Cellar, The Walrus, and Love Street Light Circus Feel Good Machine. American Blues’ combination of psychedelic and blues rock was evident on songs such as ‘All I Saw Was You’ and ‘If I Were A Carpenter’.
