Randy Bachman

From: Winnipeg, MB, Canada

Randy Bachman is best remembered for his time as a member of The Guess Who. Leaving the band in 1970, Bachman recorded his debut solo album Axe. He had arranged a collaboration with Keith Emerson but this never developed into anything as a result of Bachman’s poor health at the time. He went on to form Brave Belt who recorded two unsuccessful albums. This project evolved into Bachman-Turner Overdrive who found much greater success. Bachman left the band in 1977 due to musical differences and formed Ironhorse and then Union. He recorded another solo album in 1978 titled Survivor before rejoining the original members of BTO in 1979. He stayed with the band for another couple of years before signing a solo contract with Sony Music.
