The Band Of Joy

Band of Joy, TheFrom: West Bromwich, England

The Band of Joy was formed in 1966 by Robert Plant, who would eventually be recruited as the singer for the great Led Zeppelin. A favorite among the underground mod culture, the Band of Joy faced several conflicts with management. These conflicts forced Plant to leave the band and try to reform it into his own version. Plant made every effort to have success, including the recruitment of drummer John Bonham, another future Zeppelin band member. Other members included Chris Brown, Paul Lockey, and Kevin Gammond. The Band of Joy would eventually fold in 1968 never landing a recording contract.
