The Barrier

From: Fulham, England

This UK blues/psychedelic rock group featured Eric Francis (vocals, organs), Del Dwyer (guitar), Alan Francis (bass), and Alan Brooks (drums). The band’s debut single “Georgie Brown” / “Dawn Breaks Through”, was released in 1968 on the independent label Eyemark Records. The single led to a contract with Philips Records where two more singles would be recorded. “Tide Is Turning” and the follow-up “Spot The Lights” are quality garage band material, but never did well outside the south of London, and the group slit shortly after. Brooks would eventually join the band Punching Judy. ~
