The Clique

The CliqueFrom: England

The Clique was a band out of England that released two singles in the mid-1960s. The band was formed in 1963 by John Rowe (guitar), Peter Westgarth (vocals), Trevor Roberts (drums), and Adrian Stambach (bass). Soon after, the band added John Kitchin (rhythm guitar). Roberts left the band in 1964, and was replaced by Brian Morris, formerly of The Daytones. Both singles were recorded in 1965 for the UK Pye label. The band’s first single, “She Ain’t No Good” / “Time, Time, Time,” was also issued on ABC Paramount in the US, and was covered by The Knack. “We Didn’t Kiss, Didn’t Love, But Now We Do” was the A-side for The Clique’s second single, and is a nice piece of psych rock. Both singles are not rare and expensive collectors items. Before the release of their singles, The Clique released a privately pressed promotional EP. Only a handful of copies were pressed, and its collectable value is in excess of £500.
