Menster Phip & The Phipsters

From: Fairlawn, NJ, USA

Menster Phip & The Phipsters were a basement combo led by Phip’s four-string electric tenor guitar, his brother slamming on the drums, their father on washtub bass. Anybody else that wanted to join the band was welcomed to add to the mayhem. Home-made tapes were recorded in 1963 and were released by Telstar Records. Just about everything was recorded in the same key with the same tempo and no subtleties. The recordings are just relentless and shock most listeners when hearing them for the first time.
