Richie’s Renegades

Richie's RenegadesFrom: Lynn, MA, USA

The way in which this band landed their recording contract is a very interesting one. Richie’s Renegades won a Battle of the Bands in 1966 and won a contract to release a single. The band consisted of Billy Dunn, Bobby Ledger, Brian Michaels, Bobby Peck, Richie Reynolds, and Kevin R. (thought to be Robichaud). Richie’s Renegades released the single “Don’t Cry” / “Baby It’s Me” on the Polaris label in 1966. The B-side is a beautiful piece of pop-psych that has some excellent drumming from Peck. Both sides of this single have appeared on compilation albums. Overall, there is very little known about this band.
